What comes with an enhancement at Courtly?
Every enhancement at Courtly Nail Studio includes cuticle cleaning, a hot towel treatment and a hand massage, at no extra charge. Most salons keep these for manicures; at Courtly they finish every set, fill and overlay. The cuticle cleaning tidies the area and helps prevent hangnails, and the hot towel and massage are there simply for you to relax.
What is Gel-X?
Gel-X is a full-cover soft gel tip, and the enhancement Courtly Nail Studio recommends to new guests. It suits anyone looking for an easier removal or healthier nails. A set of Gel-X extensions at Courtly is $70.
When you come back for a fill, your nail artist checks how the set is holding. A set that is still strong is filled; one that is weakening is removed and a new set put on, with no charge for the removal. Gel-X is also one of the finishes for a Russian manicure.
What is the difference between gel and acrylic nails?
At Courtly Nail Studio both are built from your natural nail, and they differ in feel and strength. A gel full set is flexible and glossy, with a more natural look, and slightly less durable than acrylic. An acrylic full set is extremely durable. Either is kept up with fills as your nails grow.
What is an overlay?
An overlay at Courtly Nail Studio adds strength over your own nail’s length, with no extension. A hard gel overlay is very durable, glossy and natural-looking, and can last longer than other enhancements; an acrylic overlay is extremely durable and gives the most protection. Either is a good choice while you grow your own nails out. An overlay goes only to the natural length of your nail; for anything longer, choose a full set.
